Eat My Words started as a weekly newsletter in covid that combines Michelin-starred expertise with Italian simplicity. Now they are putting on seasonal supper clubs in London and hosting live cooking courses.
Illustrations
Living in the creative scenes of East London, Eat My Words were inspired by t-shirt designs from various restaurants and businesses in the area. They asked me to come up with an illustration that would reflect their business and that they could place on their merchandise. Made up of a chef and a copywriter, one small and one tall I represented the founders as two pomodors to fit with their Italian cusine.
These illustrations were used on merchandise such as t-shirts and bags as well as re-used within newsletters and social media to continue with the consistency of the brand.
Using the cheeky Italian pomodoros for the founder personalities, I thought it only fitting to use the Italian tinned tomato can as inspiration for this design, replacing text which usually would describe ingredients with witty copy to suit the brand personality.
